News Letter February 16th 2020

Welcome to FCSC. We have survived one storm and are now in the middle of a second. It may be cold and grey outside, but it is warm and bright inside the building with friends and family raising our praises heavenward. Offer a prayer for all caught up in the stormy weather and praise God for the wind, the rain, the cold and grey and celebrate the rainbows shining over our world.

Ben, Hayley and Evie have returned from China for the moment. The spread of the Coronavirus has meant many have returned to their home countries but hope to return to China once the threat is under control. Please pray for God to intervene and send His healing power on the community out there and remove the threat of this dangerous virus.

We have a special church night on Thursday this week at 7.30.  Ben and Hayley have asked if they can hold a fund-raising evening to raise funds towards their travel needs to return to China once they have a chance to do so. The evening should be informative and fun with a presentation about China and there will be a chance to taste Chinese delicacies they have prepared for us.  We will take an offering for them during that evening. Please support this lovely family as they endeavour to continue to do the work God has called them to.

On Tuesday morning at 10.00am in Costa the Aglow group have a prayer meeting which is open to people from the Church. It will be focusing on praying about the Corona Virus and its affects.

Next Saturday 22 is our ladies brunch at 11.00am in the church. Please let Brenda or Kathryn know if you coming so that they have an idea of numbers.

Next Saturday evening at 7.00pm there is a prayer concert in Blackpool Salvation Army Citadel at 7.00pm for Churches in the Fylde. Our Church is involved as Steve is leading the worship. Please make every effort to support this important event

Don’t forget the “Salt & Light Youth Café” – open each Wednesday evening 6pm to 9pm. For young folk aged 11-17years – It’s a cafe with a difference – there are board games and Wii challenges, or you can sit and do your homework

Nev and Rosie are busy on mission in Uganda. Jeni is kindly updating us each day with their itinerary. Please pray that they will be strong and healthy whilst they deliver the wonderful message of salvation and hope to the people of the villages and communities they meet. There is an itinerary for their visit on the table for you to take and pray for them if you have not already done so.

Ignite visited Kenya last Friday and made some wonderful dwellings. Next week is half term so there is no Ignite but we return to Ignite the following week with a look at Shrove Tuesday and a pancake race. Does anyone have a small frying pan we could borrow for this exciting activity? (We won’t be cooking in it – we will use ready made pancakes!!!) See Mandy.

NEXT Sunday 23 February we have our Discovery Sunday followed by food. This month we have hot roast dinner for the fellowship cooked by Robert in celebration of his birthday on 25th. It would be useful to have an indication of numbers – everyone is invited to partake so just let us know if you intend to be there.
