News Letter July 28th 2019

The end of July – how quickly is 2019 sailing past us. Keep your eyes and ears open – don’t miss anything.
Ignite is taking a short break this month but will resume on Friday 6th September. This is going to be an opportunity for everyone to get involved. No, I am not asking for people to come along (although they are always welcome) but the theme will be based on countries around the world. Do you know a special recipe from another country that we could use –
we would like to offer the children the chance to try food from different countries – see Mandy of you can help in any way!
A massive thank you to everyone who came to the beach on Friday to help the Ignite group celebrate the end of the term. We played non stop cricket, had an ice cream each and then played with the frisbee. It was a brilliant, fun evening to end the term. We now look forward to September. Keep praying, please.
Today is our July Discovery Sunday when we break into groups for bible discussion. We follow this with a Fellowship buffet to which everyone is invited. Stay around and take time
to chat with others in the Fellowship.
We have a calendar for August available for you to take home today. There are no Thursday bible studies in August and check to see if you have cell group meetings this month.
Salt and Light youth café continues this week on Wednesday evening. ‘The Cafe is open 6pm – 9pm each Wednesday evening and young people between the ages of 11 – 17 are welcome to enjoy time with friends old and new.
We have paper copies of the mid-week message on the table for anyone who does not have a computer but would like to read it.
Well done to those brave souls who attempted the walking treasure hunt yesterday. It was not great weather but the treasure hunt was appropriate for adults and children alike and, I believe great fun. Don’t worry if you missed it – we have another one at the end of August!
The men’s meeting will take the form of a walk at Scorton near Garstang, finishing up with lunch together on Saturday 17th August. There will be details up about this next week.
The church address list has now been sent out. Inevitably there will still be alterations to make so let Mandy know if you notice a mistake.
There is no children’s church in August. The creche is available but children must be accompanied by a responsible adult. The service can be listened to in the creche and a
recording of the sermon will be available to everyone who requests one. Children’s church will resume on 1 st September. Ignite will resume on 6th September.
Margaret Thirlaway and Ray are getting married this Tuesday.
Please pray for this lovely couple as they commit to each other.
